I use the latest version of brigde CS3 with the last update (2.1.1). I normally convert my NEF-files for NIKON D200 to DNG during transfer from my camera. After updating the camera RAW-plug in to 4.5, the convert to DNG-tickbox is disabled.
I have not found anything like this in the user fora. Maybe I haven't looked enough? I use Windows Vista Home Premium edition. Anybody have a suggestion? Should not Adobe check that their updates are synchronized in the creative suite? Regards! Sveinung Råheim Bodø, Norway |

I have checked some more: The camera raw plug in is installed / saved at the correct directory:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CS3\File Formats There are two old plugins in the same directory. If I rename the new and turn on the previous version, the "convert to DNG-button" is not disabled. Then I get the feeling that the problem is with the new camera raw plugin (version 4.5). I am thankful for all suggestions. Maybe someone from Adobe know something? |

I tried to move the other renamed plug in files from the folder, and that worked! I have not imported any pictures yet, but the "Convert to DNG"-option is no longer disabled.
Interesting, and still I am disappointed that Adobe release updates that does not work when you do a default installation. Well, seems like case closed! |

Glad it worked, always nice to know it suggestions worked, and is a good guide for others.
It would seem like a slam dunk that a default update should work, but as you have shown, logic is not always in evidence. |

I have cs3 version and its up to date.... and in the"get pictures from camera"
dialog box there is no option to convert to DNG...i have to convert after import using the adobe dng converter...which is a pain as I shoot completely in raw and have been using a mac with this bridge feature with no problems.. |
