ok this is driving my nuts and I cant seem to figure it out.
I have a number of pages which have different background pictures on them. On top of these background photos are text boxes with semi-transparent boxes between the text and the background photo in order to make the text readable. The problem im having is that the the text resizing when I test the movie, which means it no longer fits the semi-transparent boxes behind them. I figured i could account for this and just make the boxes bigger. I then uploaded the website and had my friend look at it who said the text boxes still overflowed the semi-transparent boxes which means that the text boxes are being displayed bigger on his computer then mine, because when i look at the uploaded page they fit the boxes perfectly. I assuming this means that the text will size differently on all computers which throws a real wrench in my website. Any ideas how I get around this or at least predict/understand it. Thanks .... ok I was just about to post this but I figured it out but i will postit for those who are having the same problem. While talking to my friend one the phone I realized that he is viewing the web page with a wide screen monitor, and flash is politely trying to resizes the page to fit his screen, the problem is that not everything is being re-sized the same. I should also mention that he thought my picture quality was really low at first, but as it turns out it is because they are being blown up by flash along with the rest of the page, which of course means that they looked like crap. These sort of problems defeat the purpose of flash - ie to impress - so be sure to avoid them. I solved the problem with one line of code placed on the main stage: stage.scaleMode = StageScaleMode.NO_SCALE ya programing...curs those zeros |
