Hello
We are running Audition 1.0 and it has stopped working with our soundcard. We are not using the onboard soundcard, but rather a second one. When I checked in the device order and settings area, I found audition had defaulted back to the original ac'97 soundcard. I changed the order of these back to the new soundcard, but audition is still attempting playback using the onboard card. I then went into the hardware profiles in windows and disabled the onboard soundcard. When I do this, audition no longer provides a play button, indicating its preferred soundcard (the onboard one) isn't working. So the question is, how do we force audition to realise to simply play things again through the new soundcard and forget about the onboard one. This is driving us nuts! Any help would be appreciated. Thanks heaps |

We are not using the onboard soundcard, but rather a second one. I think that at this point, we need a lot more information than we've got. For a start, what is the second soundcard? Internal? External? And, has anything else about the machine changed? Usually if a soundcard fails to be recognised, it has more to do with the operating system and drivers than the hardware - but it still helps if we have a better idea of what we are dealing with. |

Hi sorry I shoud have mentioned that when we play back audio through the second soundcard using windows media player or other players, it works perfectly, so there isn't a problem with the soundcard itself, raher audition is failing to play through the correct card.
