Mandatory, EXPENSIVE AACS per title (payable by rights owner, plus annual authoring house fees)

Additionally, you are aware that no set top Blu Ray player is actually required to play BD-R or BD-RE discs? Just like with DVD?
And additionally, nearly all early players will not play BD-R or BD-RE because there is no AACS/Copy Protection folder so it thinks it is a pirated disc?
Some can have firmware updated, others cannot.
