This seems to be a different issue than others posted. I have Production Premium, Vista64 SP1, 8gigmem. Everything worked well after install. I had to format and reintstall OS for unrelated issues. No change in any hardware/software. Now everything works again except during the Encore splash screen at the "initialinzing media player", the screen will go white and top window bar states "not responding" for maybe 10 seconds and then Encore continues to load normally. Also, when attempting to "build" a dvd, it does the same-white screen, not responding for several seconds then continues to successful completion. It would appear something with the default media player is at issue. Thanks for any help. Dennis

Maybe one of the inherent benefits of Vista64. Try it in several months with CS4 which DOES support Vista64.

Let me guess. You have an ATI video card and Catalyst 8.x drivers.

If not, then I don't know what the problem is. I get the same thing when launching Premiere Pro on XP Pro 32-bit. I have an ATI Radeon X1600 with the 8.5 drivers.

NB: Encore and Premiere share the same media core.
