Default What kind of DNG file for DNG profile editor ?

Can somebody help me??? I have a problem to use DNG profile:
I am user of Fujifilm S5Pro, which has RAF file (=raw). The ACR (start from version 3...) and DNG understand my RAF files very well. But DNG profile editor dose not want to open it, even if Adobe DNG Converter 4.5 converts it to DNG file. My workflow is:
Launch Adobe DNG Converter.exe, => convert RAF to DNG (tryed different settings);
Launch DNG profile editor, => trying to open DNG file => have error???
May be I'm doing in a wrong way? Please advise me.

What exactly is the error that is being reported?

There is one possibility which is that if you're on Windows, there is a bug in the current public version of PE such that any extended (e.g., accented) characters in the directory path will cause PE to fail to open a DNG. Try moving the DNG to another path and see if it works.

Eric,

As one who works in eight languages on a daily basis, I'm curious:

What would happen if Slava is using a Cyrillic version of Windows, in which all characters would be extended ASCII characters?

Thanks in advance.

I'm not entirely sure, not having tried that exact system personally. But it will be fixed for sure in the next update of PE.

I tried to do the same on other PC with Vista (fully English). Also update DNG converter up to 4.6. And no success... :-(.
Every time I have the same error: "DNG Profile Editor could not open the selected image. Note that the selected image must be a valid DNG color image."
I could not understand... where is a bug.

Thanks in advance,
Slava

Can you please send me an example NEF or CR2 that is giving you the problem? You can use YouSendIt if the file is too big. My email is madmanchan2000@yahoo.com.

Eric,
I've send two files, from my Fuji S5 and from Canon 20D. I compressed Fuji by using zip, to minimise size with no impact on data in it.
Canon 20D RAW been mailed separetly.
I still thinking that is problem with DNG profile editor ... But I downloaded again DNG Profile editor, and again no success :-(

I am still in dark side...

Thank you very much,
Slava

Eric,
Thank for your effort. I found where is a bug seats...
The solution is described here:
<http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.59b65749/1>

I've put DNG converter and DNG files in proper place (not to desktop) and it is working now!!!

I hope this issue will be solved in official version.

Thanks,
Slava
