HI
when we close file pdfx1 from IL or ID and we have 27 spot color in swatches palleta and transparency, we get messsge like this: "Cannot output this document because it contains more than 27 spot colors and uses transparency. Delete some colors or convert them to process colors and try again." OK, i deleta some spot (or transparency) from my swatches palleta and it's OK. my 2 question it's: 1. whay 27? no 24 or 16...? 2. what the problem if i have in my swatches palleta 27 spot color but in my object in document i have only 2 spot color and one in transparency? i don't have 27 spot color on my object - only in swatches! thank |

>What program puts out this message, what version...<< in program IILUSTRATOR CS2 and INDESIGGN CS2... >and when do you get it?<< like i say: when we close to pdfx1 from ILcs2 or IDcs2 and we have in swatch palleta 27 spot color or transparency. thank |

Koki,
you're right - Export as PDF fails if at least one object is transparent, for instance opacity=50%. The process fails already for explicit flattening in AI. Export as PDF/X-1a-2001 tries to flatten everything, because variable transparency is prohibited. Please let's move to the AI-Forum. It's not directly a color management issue.
