A LOT of companies do that, mostly for profit reasons. Market A may allow a 50% markup whereas market B allows a 200% markup. Happens all the time. It's the very foundation of "gray market" businesses, and companies that engage in it are not "thinking outside the box", they're being at least unethical, if not actually breaking the law.
