Hi.
I used to run Audition 1.5, which had "save as file type" support for .rm (real media) filed creation. It appears that v 2.0 doesn't have this. I was hoping someone would be able to a)explain why it's been dropped and b) if there's a sensible workaround i.e. downloadable plugin/ converter I could use. Thanks in advance. MC |

I used to run Audition 1.5, which had "save as file type" support for .rm (real media) filed creation. Er, no it didn't... the only version of the software that ever had .rm support was CE2000, back in the Syntrillium days. And .rm was only ever available as a record option - not a fully-functional .flt at all. Why? Well, the following is from a thread where I commented about this about a year and a half ago, where I said: Expensive stuff has been dropped before - which is why .rm (Real) doesn't exist as any sort of save/open option any more - RealMedia wanted stupid money to include the G2 coder or player any more (the play option was never there, actually). That's why I keep a copy of CE2000 available - it's the only G2 coder I've got. Not that it gets a lot of use these days... ....which pretty much explains why it's been dropped. |

Hi all,
Thanks for your answers. Steve some of your points confirm suspicions I've had. On the 1.5 having .rm support though you are wrong. There are at least ten instances in my office alone with support for .rm saves and in our wider building scores more. Thanks though. |

This must be a .flt you've added from somewhere - like possibly from CE2000. A bog-standard 1.5 installation has no .rm support whatsoever. |
