To update, I have installed the MS Japanese Character update, and also installed the one Japanese font, that Karen had, but I did not. I have opened her Encore 1 Project in Encore 2, and done another Save_As. The results of that are still to be determined.

My search for her particular error message yielded no useful info. Maybe someone else will recognize it and have some help.

We'll keep the thread updated, as it progresses. We're also doing a few other attempts, to get this going.
