Well, Bill tried to be my intermediary step, but when I tried to open the project file he made in Encore 2.0, I got the following error:

internal software error: \FileSpec.cpp, line 214




Does this ring any bells for anyone?

I had sent him my complete project file structure from Encore 1.0 except media, cache, and transcodes. Most of my menu text, button names, etc. are in Japanese, and of course his system complained that he didn't have the right fonts, but he ploughed forward and opened the project in 2.0, did a Save As, and sent me the resulting main project file, which he also checked for malformed XML - it's clean.

I googled that error, but there was nothing at all about it. Both my 1.0 and my CS3 are the Japanese versions, but especially in the case of CS3, I don't think there are any real differences in the program engine. And Bill was able to open my file - usually when there is a compatibility problem between language versions, it's when you try to go from multibyte to single byte, not the other way around. So I'm thinking that this error may be something else. Ideas?
