A spread I assigned to an InCopy CS4 user is overset by one line in the InDesign CS3 document it's linked to. When I open that assignment in InCopy, it's copyfit. I haven't made any changes to the layout design that would affect the text frames.
Any idea why there is this discrepancy? Thanks, amy |

I opened the document in InCopy rather than InDesign, and it shows that the text is overset, just like InDesign did. The fonts are all the same.
Is this probably a problem with the assignment I created? This particular InCopy user has had quite a few problems with the spreads I've assigned. And for some reason, every time she works on an assignment, an XML file with "Story List" in the file name pops up in the assignments folder. I don't know what that is or how it gets there. Thanks for your help, amy |

I had the InCopy user open the InDesign document in InCopy, and it showed that the spread was copyfit. When I opened up the document in InCopy again, it showed the same thing for me. I'm guessing I'll just have to make the edits directly in InDesign.
Thanks, anyway, for your help. |

It could be that slight differences between CS3 & CS4 in hyphenation dictionaries, optical kerning, and font versions are causing the discrepancy.
To test, open the layout to compare in ID CS3 & IC CS3; or in ID CS4 and IC CS4 (instead of ID CS3 and IC CS4). AM |
