Using photoshop plug-ins in Illustrator CS2

Default Using photoshop plug-ins in Illustrator CS2

<I'm trying to use the Photoshop effects in Illustrator but they are greyed out, someone mentioned that it may be a workflow issue but I can not figure out why I can not use Artistic, Distort, sketch, texture etc. Can someone please help me with this problem>

Your artwork must be in RGB for the Photoshop filters or effects to work.

I believe they work in CMYK space in CS3.
