Default Drop Shadow Question

CS3

Hi,

I'd like to make the drop shadow in the linked pic present only on the red object beneath, and not to be present at all along the rest of the arrow.

Is there a method to achieve this in Illustrator, or would I be best doing it in photoshop?

Thanks.

Duplicate the arrow and the red object, then apply the drop shadow to the arrow duplicate and mask it with the red object duplicate.

Thanks - just a clipping mask then. It works after separating out the one square, but I'm having problems when that red square is part of a group - but I should be able to work it out.

Thanks for the help.
