could not complete the requested operation

I used to have a single user account on my mac and was using Illustrator CS3 fine. Today I created another user account and when I open Illustrator in this account I get an error:

'could not complete the requested operation'

I hit OK and Illustrator then quits.

My installation of Photoshop seems to be fine by the way.

Do/did you have Illustrator open (forgot to close it maybe?) in the other account? You can only use it in one account at the time.

No I checked it wasn't open. I guess I'll try reinstalling but it seems weird to me.

I can't reinstall it because it says:

Adobe Illustrator CS3 cannot be installed because it conflicts with:

Adobe Illustrator CS3

Well that clears things up.

Well I managed to reinstall it and all seems well for now.
