The post from John Kallios gives me this reminder. I asked Adobe Tech Support about it and they said they did not know.

If you create an action in CS3 to make the Crop/Trim marks and then import that action into CS4, will it work?

I think it is worth investigating, perhaps not only for this filter but for others too.
