I have a client which has accumulated a large number of addresses of retailers for her product. I would like to make the database of the addresses searchable so site visitors can locate the closest retailer by either state or zip code. Is there a comprehensive tutorial out there to accomplish this project? I am using GLCS2.

Hi Stephen - unless you can find a pre-made system to handle the contacts database, you'd be looking more for book or two than a tutorial. GoLive CS2 doesn't have any GUI tools for working with a database, aside from writing your own code or using a pre-made system (the latter of which I don't have any specific recommendations for, sorry).
Part of it could depend on what technologies the web server supports. It's something I'd usually use PHP and MySQL for, but there are other options that would also work (ASP and MSSQL), XML and JavaScript, Flex/ActionScript, etc. |
