Default Rotate About Centre of Visible Object

I am wanting to change the rotation characteristics for 3D Models in Acrobat. At the moment the centre of rotation would appear to be the centre of the page or the total model (not certain).
I would like it to be about the middle of the visible model data and not be effected by the position of that model of the screen.

I am trying to place a model onto a sheet that has a technical drawing of the part on it. The model appears as a shaded view until it is activated and then it is like having a dynamic view embedded in the document. To make it more impressive, I am making the boundary of the 3D component the size of the page but pushing the view into one corner and then saving this as the default view.
This allows the viewer to move and zoom the view up to full sheet size.

Unfortunately, once the view is placed off to the corner, it is almost impossible to move and rotate because the centre of rotation relative to the visible part is so disconnected.

Can this be changed to centre on the visible data?
This would also help when filtering small parts in a large assembly.

Hi Mark,

Click on the model part in the scene, or in the Model Tree to select it. Right-click on the selected part and go to Part Options > Zoom to Part. This will bring the center of rotation to the selected part. If you'd like, you can then create a new view that you can then make the default view (or not). Let me know if you need help creating a new view.

Thanks for the feedback but unfortunately this is not the problem (unless I am misreading you).
I can do all of this but what I want to do is constrain the centre of rotation to the centre of the model data not move/zoom the model data to the centre of zoom.
In the specific example i am working on - I have a full page region for the 3D content but it it shrunk down and pushed off to the top right corner of the sheet with a transparent background so that I can reveal the underlying technical drawing.
The idea is that the drawing can be read and the 3D data can be moved anywhere on the sheet and zoomed up to full sheet size if required.

The problem is that if the reader starts rotating the view when it is in the top right corner, its centre of rotation is the centre of the page and the action seems uncontrollable.
If I use a space mouse it is no problem due to its increased 3D control, but most people don't use one of these devices.

How about if you hold the control key and the right mouse button and drag the mouse over the area where you want to set the center of rotation?

That should change the center of rotation to the center of the area you have selected. You may need to zoom out to see the whole model again without affecting the center of rotation.
