Interesting, but not really convincing. Still, could be useful.

Actually this one <http://www.panopticum.com/ae/water/gal4.shtml> looks a bit like how i think shooting it separately on a small scale could end up looking. The scale is all wrong, and it doesn't interact with the surface it's on.

It appears they have a demo which would let you test it out and see. I
agree, it looks like its running down a glass sheet in front of the
wall, but I know its really beyond my skills to create something more
organic than that.
