Default Bridge CS4 Magnifier changes color to greyscale

I HAVE AN UNUSUAL PROBLEM WITH BRIDGE CS4:
This has happened twice today and appears to have ruined two important photos I was prizing.
When I set the curser over and open the (+) Zoom magnifier over an enlarged photo view, and then started to drag the viewer across the photos, they both turned instantly to black & white/greyscale, automatically. I could not find any kind of "Undo" action that I could use to take the photo back to color. I then opened the photos in Camera Raw and PS CS4, and in both programs they are now greyscale photos. The odd thing is that the slideshow in Bridge shows the photos in color, but the photo is definitley now a black and white.
I am concerned now about ever using the magnifier in Bridge again, which would be a big dissapointment if that is the case.
Please comment!

Thank you for bridge us this issue, we need to dig it, I would like to ask you for more info,
1. what kind of OS did you use? (xp / vista / mactel leopard / ppc tiger?)
2. which file format is your photo? (RAW, JPG, TIFF?)
3. which workspace did you use, essential or others, and you used Zoom magnifier in preview panel or in review mode?

Thanks,
