I recently added an nVidia geForce 8600GT video card to my system with 1 GB of RAM on board. All together I have 2303MB of RAM, but I still have to use software rendering in Bridge or my images are scrambled. Since I have much more than the required 128MB+ of RAM to use hardware rendering, why am I still not able to use it ???

Hi Brian.
The problem may be with the driver. For some reason card manufacturers sometimes remove support for some features in their updated drivers. Alternatively, if the card is new-ish then the driver writers may not have gotten round to implementing the features yet. If possible try experimenting with earlier drivers - you can find earlier ones for your card here: <http://www.nvidia.com/Download/Find.aspx?lang=en-us> If this still doesn't work then you can try Omega's 'modded' drivers form here: <http://www.omegadrivers.net/> - I had to use an Omega one to get hardware rendering to work in Bridge CS3 on my laptop.
