Default ACR seems to neglect camera profiles

Hi!
When I made a camera profile based on a mosaic DNG of the ColorChecker image ("Convert to linear" deselected in the Save dialog), it had a perfect visual match right out of the box. But then, PhotoAcute required linear DNGs. So I made a new profile based on a de-mosaiced DNG. The profile had not the same perfect match out of the box, but could easily be tweaked to have so. So I stored both profiles. Now, when I open a raw file in ACR, it makes no difference which camera profile I choose - neither visual nor in the histogram. It does make a difference if I choose eihter of these two versus ACR 4.4 versus 3.3. What is going on?

4.6.0.30. Sorry for not specifying this. As well as that I'm on a Mac 10.4.11.

Today I created a new profile based on a linear DNG of the CC image and did not tweak it. This profile makes a slight difference in the histogram, when I re-open the CC raw image in ACR.

??

-Good light!
