Default Re: adobe bridge

TO answer the original post, and since I have an issue with it daily, and today it really makes it frustrating when I need it to work with deadlines....
Bridge is designed to make you think that it can do important, yet simple things that the OS is not geared for handling. Such as auto resizing, seeing folders with thumbs and previews at 100%, show attributes of the file renaming, Metadata editing, image processing, viewing previews across dual monitors..etc...But, it is designed to make you THINK it can do these things, as I sit here and try launching for the 3rd time after a number of purge cache resets, I still need to reveal a folder in explorer then select an image right click and do Open with Bridge, before Bridge wants to see it, since it will sit there blank if I try direct. And if you want to view files off a network drive, good luck there too.

So in a nut shell, before you become a nut when using Bridge...It is designed to make you think that these things could be done using Bridge..But they CANNOT! I have download a FREE sw called FastStone, and it does just about all I need from Bridge and then some...except that it is not so great either...I will post my few but key issues here in case someone knows whats up (I will also email FStone direct and see if they can do something). FastStone can resize and create files to jpg from a PSD or other format, but my jpg thumbnails look like the have a layer of Magenta across them. Then some thumbnails do not appear, they are blank with some a "2P" symbol on top left of the thumb...this might be something basic but?

Also would need to be able to add metadata info or Copyright info, and a great one would be to preview PDF files.

I am actually using faststone more than Bridge at this point..

Lets see what is said for CS4 Bridge
