Default Upgrade Question

When upgrading to CS4, do I need CS3 on my machine during the upgrade or can I delete it first. I vaguely recall from my last upgrade that I only needed to enter my license codes into the upgrade install screens. I need to wipe out my hard drive due to some other issues and don't want to reinstall CS3 again (I just ordered the upgrade today). Also, I have design premium CS3 which I am upgrading to design premium CS4 but I assume the procedure to upgrade is the same.

Yes.

But CS3 can coexist with CS4.

thank you. I don't have a need for CS3 and CS4 at the same time. I appreciate the quick response.

I wouldn't get rid of CS3 before running CS4 for a while. I may need some of the features removed in the upgrade.
